Generating Documents

Generating Documents in Preview Mode

The MRSI Wizard Application allows users to generate a PDF document based on the information entered into the wizard forms. This document can then be downloaded and shared as needed.

To generate a PDF of your document, click the "Open Print View" button (printer icon) located in the top right corner of the wizard interface. A new tab will be opened to preview your document. It won't look exactly like the final PDF, but it will give you a good idea of how the content is structured. Tables will likely not fit perfectly on the page in this view, but when printed, should appear correctly.

From here you can click the "Create Document" button to generate the PDF. Your document is then sent to our document generation service, which may take a few moments depending on the size of your document. Once the document is ready, you can download it from the Files section of the wizard (found in the sidebar menu). The name of the files link varies between document types, but it is typically labeled as "Files" "Additional Files" or similar.

The "Document Generation" link in the sidebar will show the status of your document generation requests. You can click on this link to see a list of all generated documents, along with their status (e.g., "In Progress," "Completed," "Failed"). Once a document is marked as "Completed", it will be available for download from the Files section of the wizard.

Generating Documents in Edit Mode

Most of the time you'll generate ready documents using the steps above. But sometimes you may want to generate documents in the editing mode of the wizard so reviewers can see the options chosen compared to the available options.

Before clicking the "Create Document" button, click the "View in Edit Mode" switch located next to the button. This will create a document that includes the editing interface elements, allowing reviewers to see both the selected options and the available choices.

You can then "Create Document" as usual, and the generated PDF will reflect the edit mode view. Besides the visual differences, this version is printed from your web browser's print functionality, so the layout may differ slightly from the standard generated document. We're still working to get the styling closer to the standard generated documents, but it should suffice for an in-progress review. The conversion to PDF will be quicker with this method since it's done locally in your browser, not on our servers.

If you encounter any issues during the document generation process, such as a "Failed" status, please reach out to the MRSI Support team for assistance. We can help troubleshoot any problems and ensure that your documents are generated correctly.
