The TCX for metallurgy and welding was created to maintain state-of-the-art technical expertise in, and provide expert support to, the following mission areas:
- Design of weldments for new Hydraulic Steel
- Design of weldments to resist the effects fatigue and fracture through proper welding details and techniques
- Authoring and reviewing Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR)
